Medical
ALL athletes must have a current medical (on Special Olympics PA medical form) that runs through the end of the season. If the athlete medical is not up-to-date, athletes WILL NOT be able to participate. Unfortunately, there are no exceptions to this rule since it poses a safety risk to the entire program. An up-to-date medical must always be on file with the coach as well as sent to register.sopadelco@gmail.com. To download a copy of the medical application, check our resource page. To check on the medical expiration date for an athlete, please go here: athlete medical expiration date lookup as of 7-2-2022. NOTE that the expiration date must be AFTER the date of the season’s final competition (ie State Games, Fallfest, etc).
Coaches and management will try our best to remind athletes of medical expiration dates, but it is still the responsibility of the athlete to ensure all paperwork is filled out before training begins.

Sport Registration
Leading up to each season (Summer, Fall, Winter), every athlete must register for sport(s) they are interested in. If an athlete wishes to compete in multiple sports, they must indicate which sport is their primary. The athlete may only compete at State Games in their primary sport, but is still able to train at other sports during the season (ex: athlete trains in both softball and swimming, but only competes in swimming at Summer Games).
The registration process is kicked off by an email from register.sopadelco@gmail.com to our current athlete body as each season approaches. If interested, respond with pertinent information and that’s it! If you do not hear from us, feel free to reach out and ask. We try our best to include everybody, but sometimes things fall through the cracks! If you are new to the sport or did not receive the beginning of season email, please send an email to register.sopadelco@gmail.com to let us know the sport and your contact information to register.
